1. What to Do If You Have a Paper Clash?

A "Clash" occurs when two of your subjects are scheduled for the same Date and Time. This often happens to students with "Re-appear" papers.
The Solution: AIOU does not change dates for individuals. However, if the clash is between two AIOU papers, you must contact your Regional Office immediately. They may arrange for you to sit both papers at the same center with a short break, though this is rare. Usually, you have to choose one and skip the other (appearing for it in the next semester).

2. Examination Hall SOPs (Avoid Rejection)

To ensure a smooth entry into the exam center, adhere to these strict rules:

Mandatory Documents

  • Original CNIC (Nadra)
  • Printout of Roll No Slip
  • Blue Marker & Ballpoint

Banned Items

  • Mobile Phones (Strictly)
  • Smartwatches
  • Helping Material / Notes

3. Grading Policy Autumn 2025

Understanding the passing criteria is essential. AIOU has different rules for different levels:

  • Matric / FA: Passing Marks = 40% (Aggregate of Assignments + Exam).
  • BA / Associate Degree: Passing Marks = 50%.
  • BS / B.Ed / MA: Passing Marks = 50%.

Note: You MUST pass the final exam separately. Even if you have 100% marks in assignments but fail the final exam (get less than 50/100), you will be declared "Fail" in the subject.

4. Re-Appear Policy

If you miss a paper or fail it, you do not need to take fresh admission. The course will automatically appear in your Roll No Slip for the next semester as a "Re-appear." You will have to pay the Re-appear fee (approx Rs. 600-1000) along with your next semester's challan.
